The Pearl Exhibition and Sale (Pearl Fest), proudly presented by Uwajima, Japan's top pearl producer, and the Uwajima Gourmet Festival (Industrial Festival), where a wide array of local delicacies gather, are held simultaneously. Nanrakuen Plum Blossom Festival
In the plum garden of Nanrakuen, a Japanese garden boasting the largest scale in Shikoku, 160 plum trees of 15 varieties bloom. During the Plum Blossom Festival, free plum tea is served at the 'Umemi Chaya' (Plum Viewing Teahouse), and Zashiki-bina (traditional doll displays) are exhibited. The night illumination on specific weekends is also a must-see.
