Located on Hakata Island, floating along the Shimanami Kaido, is "Hirakiyama Park." Often ranking first among Ehime's cherry blossom spots, it is one of the prefecture's premier cherry blossom viewing locations. Every spring, the mountain transforms into a vibrant pink from peak to base.
With approximately 1,000 Somei Yoshino cherry trees blossoming profusely across the 149m summit, the park offers an unparalleled spectacle where you can simultaneously capture the blue Seto Inland Sea, its beautiful islands, and iconic bridges.
360-Degree Panoramic Views from the Observation Deck

The greatest charm of Hirakiyama Park is the view from its magnificent wooden observation deck at the summit. A 360-degree panorama unfolds, offering sweeping views of the Shimanami Kaido bridges—Hakata-Oshima Bridge, Omishima Bridge, and Tatara Bridge—along with the islands of the Seto Inland Sea. The breathtaking contrast of the full bloom cherry blossoms and the azure sea stretching out below is truly stunning.

Advice for Cherry Blossom Viewing
Hirakiyama Park is one of Ehime Prefecture's most popular spots, so parking lots and access roads can become very crowded on peak bloom weekends. For those who want guaranteed entry or to take photos at a relaxed pace, we highly recommend visiting on a weekday morning or early morning. Furthermore, the park features large play equipment, including a 36-meter slide and a jungle gym, making it perfect for families with children.
The Beautiful Archipelago of the Seto Inland Sea and the Cherry Blossom Symphony

Hirakiyama Park is situated on a small hill, offering unobstructed views. This allows you to photograph the full bloom cherry blossoms against the serene waters and islands of the Seto Inland Sea. It is a scenic spot where every angle is picture-perfect. On sunny days, the park bustles with people enjoying picnics on spread-out sheets, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the vibrant spring scenery amidst the tranquil island atmosphere.
